Northwood Realty Announces First Hockey Mom of 2018!
Congratulations to Tracy Meure, Northwood’s Youth Hockey Mom winner for January 2018! Tracy, a mother of two teenagers, has been a positive driving force in Meadville High School Hockey and Crawford County Youth Hockey Association (CCYHA) for over a decade. During this time she has had many roles within the organizations including serving as a voluntary Board Member, an Officer (currently as Secretary), CCYHA PeeWee Team Manager, and as a PAHL and PIHL representative. Tracy does all of this in addition to being a mom to her active son and daughter, wife, and working full-time as the Director of MMC Community Care Network.
For the Meadville Bulldogs, where her son Ben plays, Tracy handles all the communication and travel logistics for the team. She makes sure that everyone stays informed from coaches and players to parents which are vital for a team that travels as much as the Bulldogs. Tracy also possesses a special talent that she puts to use at each and every Bulldog home game. She delivers a pitch-perfect acapella rendition of the National Anthem in front of the crowd before the start of the game. While some people might get nervous singing live in front of a crowd, but Tracy handles it with ease as she is used to it a regular Cantor for her church.
Giving back to the community is important to Tracy. Twelve years ago in 2005, the Meadville Bulldogs created a fundraising partnership between the hockey program and the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute. The Bulldogs raise funds to help directly fight breast cancer in their community by monetarily supporting local breast cancer patients and the Institute’s Breast Cancer Survivorship Program. Tracy has been actively involved in the program since her son was a Freshmen. To date, the Bulldogs have raised 100,000 dollars and have a goal to raise at least another $10,000 this year. Tracy along with the other Bulldog moms helps to assist in the team’s fundraising goals by organizing the association’s “Pink the Rink” and “Power Play for Prevention” programs along with “Surviving with Style Breakfast and Fashion Show.”
