Middlesex Real Estate
Middlesex Township is located in the most southern area of Butler County. It is bordered by Adams Township and Clinton Township. Route 8 and Route 228 run directly through the township, making it an easy commute to Cranberry Township and Butler and only a 30 minute drive from Pittsburgh.
Middlesex Township was first settled in 1794 as part of Allegheny County and was incorporated in 1800 as part of Butler County, making it one of the original thirteen Butler County Townships. In the early 1800’s, many industries resided in the township, including a sawmill, a gristmill, distillery, tannery and a coffin shop. The theory of how Middlesex Township got its name is because of where it is located, along the Allegheny County and Butler County line and bordered by five different townships as well.
Today the township is home to more than 5,000 residents. Middlesex boasts two golf courses: Pheasant Ridge Golf Club and Rittswood Golf Course, as well as two parks: Glade Run Lake Park and the Community Park. You can find many businesses along Route 8 and Route 228, of which will include restaurants, shops, fitness centers, clinics, gas stations, sales dealerships, retail stores, an athletic club, a bowling alley, and several industrial businesses as well. There are also many churches throughout the township.
