About Adams Township

Adams Township

Created from two of the original Butler County Townships in 1854, Adams Township was named for President John Quincy Adams.  Once a stable agricultural community, Adams is growing into a suburban bedroom community where the majority of the residents commute outside of the Township and the County.

Since 1980, Adams Township saw approximately a 44% increase in residents move into the community.  Because of the growth, the open land available has been appealing for new housing developers to build new homes and custom home communities.  This has also led to a higher average sold price of $304,000.  Those residents with children, and people thinking about future residency are drawn to the highly-rated Mars Area School District.

Though a definite growth in development, the Adams Township area still has a small community feel.  They host a number of family-friendly events such as the Mars Apple Fest, Movies in the Park, Adams Township Community Day, and much more.  For a more city feel, there are multiple town centers filled with shops, restaurants, and coffee shops.

You are only minutes away from Cranberry Township, which offers an array of activities, or hop on one of the nearby interstate highways (I79 and Pennsylvania Turnpike) and take a little over 30 minute drive into the city of Pittsburgh.
