Butler County Area Information
Butler County is located about 35 miles north of Downtown Pittsburgh, and has much to offer. It is home to Moraine State Park, the third largest in the state of Pennsylvania, and 3,225 acre Lake Arthur. The lake is a year round aquatic play land with everything from fishing for northern pike or largemouth bass, to wind surfing and ice boating. Butler County is a place of art, culture, and beautiful landscapes. There are 17 public golf courses in the county, a huge fair and farm show, and more than 1100 rural farms and equestrian centers spread across the scenic valleys; A true paradise for horse lovers and those who love the out of doors.
Butler County is more than a weekend getaway. It's a place where an increasing number of people are choosing to live. Next to Allegheny County, there is more new home construction in Butler County than any other area in Greater Pittsburgh. Cranberry Township is an ever popular area with higher end homes being built. Lots of land, good school district and access to I-79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
